#islands2014 Our Islands Our Future conference

This is an unofficial index to the video livecast recordings from the first day of the Our Islands Our Future conference held in Kirkwall on 19-20 September 2014. See the official conference blog, which was updated live throughout the event by Islands Council staff from Orkney and Shetland, for full details of the programme and speakers.

Audio from conference sessions was livestreamed throughout the event, by Orkney Islands Council and Pickaquoy Centre staff. For technical reasons, we are sorry that we are unable to make the recordings of the first day of the conference available online (recordings of the second day are available at http://mixlr.com/islands2014 ).

However, we also experimented with video livestreaming technology (due to bandwidth constraints at the venue, we were unable to broadcast video live). Despite the low quality of the video image and soundtrack, we are now able to make these experimental recordings of the first day available.
