I'm very excited to be helping out with the Orkney Science Festival by doing experimental livestreaming of some events, using bambuser. You can watch the broadcasts at the Festival's bambuser channel, but I'll provide a daily unofficial index of recordings, so that they can all be found in one place!
Some of the events were livestreamed in a number of parts - this is usually due to technical issues with the broadcasting process (typically, issues with broadband at the venue), so don't forget to click on all the links for each event! By 08:00 on Friday 6 September, there were over 130 views of one or more of these recordings (with 46 views having been done live at the time of broadcast).
It was a big mistake on my part to forget my tripod for most of the events on Day 1 - wobbly image and sore arms were the equally undesirable outcomes of that oversight! If you'd like to give feedback on this experiment in livestreaming, please do so in the comments below (or tweet to @OrkSciFest, or use the email address on the OISF webpage.
