Sorry for the VERY late update this week - there really is *no* excuse!!

My hopes for this (or these!) next #digitalbroth(s) are much the same as they were last week! And are as follows:

- some of great people I met on Saturday in London at #ukgc15 (and or some other great people) connect to the hangout, to ease my increasing feelings of "come down" after the weekend!

- Anyone interested (including and , and very welcome new, or resumed, twitter follower  ) is able to come (either in person or via the G+ hangout) for a chat about #islegc15 (and maybe even Andy McL, for a chat about the #TMOrkney15 event which will be co-located with in the fabulous new Kirkwall Grammar School)

- we start to identify sponsorship & funding prospects for #islegc15 and #TMOrkney15 (in Orkney, and online, 29-31 May2015 -at Kirkwall Grammar School) IslandGovCamp 2015

- we continue to make progress towards rebooting the Orkney ICT Forum, as the digitalOrkney Forum, including improving the blog, and arranging an EGM/AGM

- we start to understand the superfast broadband rollout plans for Orkney

- that this blog post is comprehesible, and enables as many people with in interest in digital services in Orkney (or wherever) to have space to discuss things they wish to discuss, if they wish

- that anyone with a view on any of this makes it known, either as a comment below, a tweet with the #digitalbroth tag, or otherwise!

Slight change to format this week - I've travelling on Thursday, so cannot provide soup at the house on Wednesday evening, and also stand a reasonable chance of catching the plane next day!! So, for one week only, we'll stay on at Helgi's and try their excellent soup.

But if anyone is in Edinburgh on Thursday evening and/or Sunday afternoon and fancies some digital chat (and soup, if we can find any), I'd be very pleased to take part (and set up a Google Hangout, if possible, and if required by people who cannot be in the same room). Leithers and Edinburghians, please advise on where we could meet!!

• we think about how a Teachmeet Orkney can be part of IslandGovCamp 2015 (or vice versa!), sometime in May or June 2015

#digitalbroth will be back

in Helgi's, Kirkwall, and online:

from 1630GMT on Wednesday, 17 December 2014, 

for a Christmas Special. 

As usual, we will meet at Helgi's (from about 1630GMT onwards): if you would like to connect with us from where you are via Google Hangout (or similar - please just comment below, in Facebook, or tweet me, and I will try to help.

As it's Christmas, the soup (from about 1800GMT onwards) will be festive and may not be at my house (if I get round to making other arrangements!). As always, there will be a Google Hangout to connect to for this part of the evening, if you prefer to participate from where you are at that time (you might want to make yourself some soup!)

There may also (from about 1845GMT onwards) be a bit of an announcement about #digitalOrkney possibilities for 2015. After all, #digitalbroth was never all about the soup!!

For me, #digitalbroth has been replaced until Wed 17-DEC-2014 by the #PantoSweeties of Kirkwall Arts Club, who have done me the honour of asking me to act as Deputy Stage Manager of the their show, Babes in the Wood (Orkney Theatre, 7.30 Fri 5, matinee and 7.30  6, 7.30 Mon-Wed 8-10 December - some tickets still available, and a few likely to be available at the door.

What's that you say? You'll miss the #digitalbroth? Will you, boys and girls, will you?? Of course you will, but when the panto is BEHIND ME, you all shout - "Where's the Broth, Where's the Broth?", and I will come running to see what's going on. Will we give it a go? No?
