I tried to send this as email, but the address provided does not seem to work (yet?). I also tried posting the text below as a wall post on the event facebook page, but this did not work either. There seems to be very little information on the http://www.govcampscotland.com website so far! I suppose interacting with an event such as this by twitter and email is just as appropriate as conventional email! I will post link to this post on the facebook page, and publish it via twitter, in the hope of a response.

Having had my enthusiasm for this approach fired by attendence at SOCITM Scotland in Edinburgh on 22 September, and #sgc2 in Aberdeen on 24 September. I am very interested participating in Scot Gov Camp in November. The article in the Holyrood Connect magazine about this event was very interesting.
Will it be possible for me, and other island colleagues, to participate through a webex or Adobe Connect link to the event which, augmented by twitter and other links between remote and in-person participants may be the only way for those of us with geographical challenges to involve ourselves cost-effectively in this exciting new way of working (especially since these 3 events are so close in time to each other).
One of the essential elements of #sgc2 is that everyone participates in a personal capacity, not as a representative of any organisation: will this be true of the November event?
I'm very much looking forward to your twitter and facebook updates as the event gets closer. will there be a blog/wiki to facilitate the choice of topics for discussion (along the lines of that for the September ScotGovCamp ?

It's probably worth pointing out that this event in Scotland is not one that is connected to the other GovCamps, LocalGovCamps or ScotGovCamps which have been taking place across the UK since January 2008.
ReplyDeleteI haven't had any contact from anyone behind the GovCampScotland event either and while I always maintained that nobody needs anyone's permission to run an event like this, the spirit of collaboration and openness means we all ought to work together.
I have been sending a test email every day or so, and I am pleased to say that yesterday I got a reply. So emailed my queries, and now await a response. I will post the response here when I receive it.
